Rio Gastronomia 2026 opens the gates of Pião do Prado, at the Brazilian Jockey Club, at noon this Saturday, September 19, kicking off a gastronomic and cultural marathon that runs until midnight. The lineup features 36 restaurants, free chef masterclasses, a small producers' market, and performances by Brazilian artists.

For the 16th edition, the gates open at noon, earlier than the usual 12 PM schedule, allowing visitors to enjoy more programming time. The gastronomic and cultural marathon runs until midnight.

chef masterclasses and renowned chefs

The Sesc | Senac Auditorium hosts free classes by chefs such as Fréderic Monnier, Paula Prandini, and Lucas Corazza. Tickets are distributed one hour before each class. Other sessions include topics such as "Franco-Brazilian passion: butter!" and "Smart kitchen – To make the most is to care."

36 restaurants and a diversity of flavors

The festival brings together 36 establishments, including traditional pubs and star-studded kitchens. Among the newcomers are Epicerie Kadeau, Ferro e Farinha, and Casa Magnólia. Classic names making their debuts such as Bar da Frente and Bar do Momo also return to the stage.

concerts and street bands that liven up the event

Performances include Samuel Rosa, Marcelo D2, Blitz, Ferrugem, and the retro pagode street band Fica Comigo. The Fanfarra Pifânica da Mata parades at 1 PM, followed by Liv Moraes and the Baile Charme with DJ Michell. At 8 PM, the Fica Comigo band takes the stage with romantic hits.

economic impact and institutional support

According to the City Hall, the festival is expected to pump more than R$ 66 million into the city's economy. The capital's gastronomic sector generates nearly 70,000 formal jobs in bars and restaurants. The event is sponsored by companies such as Claro, Banco do Brasil, Elo, 99Food, Stella Artois, and supported by public agencies, including the Ministry of Culture and the Municipal Secretariat of Culture.

tickets and discounts

Tickets are sold through the Ticketmaster website, with promotional prices starting at R$ 80 on Thursdays and Fridays, and R$ 88 on Saturdays and Sundays. Children up to 10 years old enter for free. There are discounts of 10%, 20%, 30%, and 50% for newspaper subscribers, bank customers, and people with disabilities.
